Solo Expeditions.........continuation
Each student is require to do the following while conducting the solo-expedition;-
1.Construct water-proof bivouac or shelter using available natural materials.The required biouvac should be protective against adverse weather conditions and other external attacks. In addition, the bivouac should be attractive, clean and blend with the environment as much as possible.
2.Construct a clean and attractive kitchen near the bivouac with consideration of the wind direction as a precaution to fire hazards.
3.Construct a well located pit-latrine and garbage pit also bearing in mind the wind direction. N.B. the garbage pit should be used for degradable trash, non-degradable should be collected back to Rongai camp at the end of each student completion of th exercise.
In order to feel the ideal life in a strange and challenging environment; things like smoking, wrist-watch, radio, torch, reading materials or any other item which may occupy one's mind are not allowed during solo.

DURING SOLO
Each student is provided with one and half liters of fresh water, some six sticks of matches and a piece of striker to make fire for each meal which must be extinguished before night fall. Also raw foodstuff (such as steak meat and rice) is given according to scale so as with the notion "STRIVE TO BE HAPPY".
College instructors constantly pay suprise visits to every individual student at his/her respective position to check as to what extent are the rules and regulations of solo being followed. Marking and grading of each student is done on the site.
The grades awarding is on the following;-
a) Awell constructed waterproof bivouac
b) Toilet (pit)
c) Garbage pit
d) Kitchen
e) Bed
